February 18, 2010 -- 2nd-Alarm Response in Cupertino

This time, it was 3:40 A.M. on Thursday, Feb. 18, when the pagers went off. Santa Clara County Fire was requesting Fire Associates help for a 2-alarm fire in Cupertino. Jerry Haag responded in Fire Support Unit 1 and was met by FASCV members Ron Green and Larry Carr. Jerry has submitted this report:

Time: 0343 Sonitrol dispatch, 0410 arrival, released at 0735.
Type: Structure fire
Size: Second alarm
Jurisdiction: County Fire
Location: 10132 Deeprose Place, Cupertino


Details: Single-family, split-level, frame dwelling. Engine 1 and Truck 1 were first in. Two 1-3/4" crosslays and one 2-1/2" exposure line pulled from E-1. Engine 2 on E-110 provided water supply by 5" supply line from nearby hydrant. E-1 also supplied T-1 ladder-pipe through 5" hose line. Seriously exposed dwelling on "B" side was saved from serious damage. Dwelling of origin was greatly damaged. No injuries to occupants or firefighters.
